Longer version...

I'm an established children's illustrator and designer based in West Yorkshire in the UK, where we only get around 16 bright and sunny days a year, so I spend a lot of time moaning about the weather. And the darkness.

I have over 30 years industry experience with an extensive understanding of commercial design and production.

I began my career in the world of fashion, working for 10 years in childrenswear and womenswear design. When I had my first bambino it became apparent that it was no longer convenient for me to be off travelling the world, visiting factories and attending photoshoots. So I left it all behind and went to work in-house at Mamas and Papas. I spent a year there, designing best selling ranges for nursery and clothing and I loved every minute. I left to go freelance when I had my second kid... and M&P became my first client.

Since then I've worked for loads of fabulous companies and my illustrations have appeared on practically every baby and kids product imaginable. (I'll drop a select list of clients below for anyone who likes to know these things.) I've been illustrating baby board books since 2014, with my first published book being shortlisted for the Sainsbury's Book of the Year Award. I've lost count of the number of published titles now, but it's definitely over the 300 mark. I've also written some of the baby books I've worked on and I've 'recently' written my own rhyming picture book story...which I'm yet to illustrate cos my perfectionism is strong.

​I love drawing so much that it leaks into my spare time. I never just sit and watch telly without also drawing on my laptop at the same time and my sketchbook goes with me on holidays. I add my personal work to my blog and I send out monthly roundup of stuff I've drawn via my newsletter on substack.

My other hobbies are 'talking a lot' and getting on a plane to somewhere exciting.
